Introduction / Intermediate

Course Description

This is a one day course designed for existing users of PowerPoint and Windows or for users transferring from other types of graphic applications, and covers all the more advanced features of the package.

The topics below represent a suggested course content. However, these can be adapted to meet specific objectives.

Course Contents

  • Charts
  • Charting concepts and terminology are explained when creating bar, line, pie (graphs) and organisation charts. Thereafter, editing charts will be demonstrated

  • Templates
  • Creating and editing templates will be taught and working with templates to standardise company presentations and how these can be useful for users who have little experience of PowerPoint will also be explained

  • Editing Pictures
  • How to edit pictures (Clipart) in a presentation, using the group and ungroup commands.

  • Adding Objects
  • How to add subliminal messages to a presentation and apply it throughout the entire presentation

  • Screen Shows
  • How to view the presentation electronically either on the computer screen or by using a special projector to view the presentation on a projector screen. (This can only be done if the equipment is available)

  • Special Effects
  • Delegates are taught how to apply transitions and builds to enhance the presentation

  • Integration with other MS Applications
  • Delegates are shown how to add and link objects (e.g., Word tables and Excel Charts) to a PowerPoint presentation

  • Text Formatting
  • Features which accentuate text, such as alignment, bold/underline/italics, fonts size colour and special effects together with text frames will be shown

  • Colour Schemes
  • How to use different colour schemes to enhance a presentation will be discussed and demonstrated

  • Views
  • Altering how the presentation is viewed on the screen to suit the individuals requirement and to assist in precision drawing

  • File Management

To show delegates good practice when saving files, opening existing files and also printing
