Course Description
This is a one-day course designed for
either new users of Word and Windows or for users transferring from other types
of word processors, and covers all the basic features of the package.
Course Contents
The topics below represent a suggested
course content, these can however be adapted to meet specific objectives.
- Word Screen Overview
The different elements of the screen,
terminology, dialogue boxes, defaults and how to move around the Word
environment are explained and demonstrated.
- Editing
Shortcuts for selecting and changing
text, copying and moving text and the different ways of correcting text are
examined.
- Formatting
How to change the look of characters,
bold, italics, underline etc., indenting paragraphs, changing the default
margins and page setup, typing lists of text using tabs, and inserting page
numbering are demonstrated in this session.
- Automating Tasks
How best to use the Word AutoCorrect and
AutoText features to save time and create shortcuts are demonstrated.
